Misson

To provide every individual and entity with the tools to understand, manage, and improve their health and healthcare.

Importance of Magnus

  • Can you remember what immunizations your children have had, or for that matter the results of your last blood work?
  • Have you ever tried to explain what procedures, shots, or medications you received several years ago?
  • Do you even know your blood type? Are you sure?

Most of us are not trained medical care providers and this information is not easy to remember, yet this is vital information that doctors need to know.

Magnus Health Portal® was formed on the premise that everyone has unique healthcare needs. We believe that to provide the best treatment available, doctors need access to your medical history. With Magnus Health Portal® you have a secure platform which organizes your records in a way both you and your doctor can understand.

History

Magnus Health Portal® was formed in 2005 with the intent of improving healthcare by allowing patients the ability to create and share their personal health records with healthcare professionals. A Radiation Oncologist from Raleigh, NC conceived the idea of a storage house for all of a patient's records. One day a patient came to him with his complete medical record scanned onto a CD. The treatment was able to quickly take a direct and pointed approach to that specific patient because the doctor was able to immediately review his entire medical history. No time was lost waiting for other practices to collect and send records for the physician to review. More importantly, the patient was actively involved in the decision making of his own treatment.

I think the patient-directed health record is an important step in getting the patient involved in their healthcare. So often I see patients who are not sure why or when a certain test was done. Having the patient involved in obtaining their information gets the patient informed and proactive in their treatment.

Dr. Charles Scarantino

Since the company's inception, Magnus Health Portal® has developed a coordinated software platform that consolidates thousands of points of healthcare information. This single platform is now able to deliver value to both individuals and to corporations. Our proprietary Msense™ software imports information from disparate medical information systems, Internet connected PC's, and paper records. These secure tools then search the data within the records, analyze them to provide current health status and active medical recommendations, and can generate real-time reports with the click of a button. Leveraging exclusive online user interfaces, the corporate or individual user can better understand and manage their own health information to meet their respective needs in a way that provides value and efficiency. Individuals and businesses both gain from this unique offering.
